Our next AUS meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 13th, at 7:00 pm, at Memorial United Methodist Church, at 6100 Berkman Drive (Austin, TX 78723) – it’s just southeast of where I-35 and US-290 connect, and a few blocks east of Cameron Road.
September’s song will be along soon; check this space.
Question from a newbie… What if you’re brand new? I’ll be hustling to get my chords down before the next meeting, but I wonder if I’ll be able to follow along at all. I would love to meet everyone & hopefully find a mentor. Is just showing up the best way to do this, or are there more informal ways to do this? I’m very excited to jump in, but admit I get a little shy.
Don’t be nervous about being new; many of the folks who come to our meetings for the first time have very little uke experience. Bob describes the chords for a new song, and if you have any doubts about how to play along with a song, ask the person sitting next to you. Everyone in the group is friendly & supportive. So come to the meeting & you’ll have a great time. We do our best to make everything easy & fun. –Walter
Thanks! Excited to attend!
